THE "3 OWLS" SPECIAL EVENT STATION
Back in June 1997 the club operated a special event station from the "3 Owls" Bird Sanctuary in Norden, Rochdale, and the event was held to help publicise the work of the sanctuary. The station was operated from a tent in the grounds, and powered by a generator, despite the poor weather over the weekend many stations were worked, and a lot of our special QSL cards were sent out. Unfortunately we weren't able to get the callsign GB3OWL, but GB4OWL and GB5OWL were heard by many amateurs and listeners, and you can see a scan of some of our unique QSL cards below: |
