Sunday May the 4th 2003 saw club members back at the Engine House for our fifth visit. Unusually for these events, and in spite of the weather forecasters predicting rain and high winds (as per usual), the Sun shone, the rain stayed away, and the pleasant Bank Holiday weather brought many visitors out to the centre. After an initial spell on the higher bands we finally managed to find a small space on the very crowded 40 Metre band, and there we stayed until closedown at just after 4pm local time. Around 114 contacts were made on the HF station, and we also worked quite a few on the 6/2/70 station as well. If you were unable to work us this time, don't worry, we should be back there again around the first Sunday in May next year. Thanks to all the stations who took the trouble to call in, it was great to work so many of you. All QSL cards received go on display in the Museum, so future visitors will see your card if you send one.
Since we had plenty of operators this year (including the tireless "Roborob (M3HEY - the OHARS' own Duracell Bunny), many of us had the chance to wander around taking lots of pictures for a change. You can see some of these further down the page, this will allow you to put a face to the voice if you managed to work us. The local newspaper were also in attendance, and we also found some of our operators featured in the following edition, you will also find a scan of this at the end of the page.
